One of the most dramatic changes facing payers today is the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 code sets. The process of translating ICD-9 to ICD-10 is highly complex, and translations must be flexible enough to meet unique system demands and thorough enough to provide accurate costs and reimbursements.
The TriZetto ICD Translation Manager™ solution is a comprehensive translation solution that translates diagnosis and procedure codes from both TriZetto and non-TriZetto solutions. The ICD Translation Manager is available for use with TriZetto version 4.7 (and higher) releases of the Facets™, QNXT™, CareAdvance™ and NetworX Suite® applications. The ICD Translation Manager solution enables users to load, store, and maintain ICD-9 and ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes, with their English-language descriptions and effective periods (start/end dates), in a common repository. These code sets can then used to establish multiple, purpose-built equivalence mappings between ICD-9 and ICD-10 procedure diagnosis codes, which also can have distinct effective periods. In addition, the ICD Translation Manager application can be extended beyond TriZetto solutions, providing translation capabilities for a wide range of core administration and enterprise business applications.
Benefits:
- Creates a central source of mapping data, which includes stored ICD codes and descriptions, stored ICD code mapping assignments, and recorded history of mapping translations.
- Provides consistent translation for business requirements, including transactions, reporting, and data warehousing.
- Enables concurrent support for multiple mapping sets–users can build distinct purpose-built maps to allow flexibility across business applications.
- Provides an easy-to-use interface that enables the payer to view imported mapping results, create new mappings and maintain existing mappings.
